The Plumbing and Heating Program provides students with excellent opportunities to experience numerous aspects of the trade. Students develop skills in assembling black steel pipe, copper tubing and cast iron soil pipe. Safety is emphasized throughout the four-year program. Students are taught the proper use of hand and portable power tools. They are also exposed to welding as it applied to the plumbing trade.

The junior and senior shop curriculum provides with opportunities to work on live work thus allowing them to work on school and community maintenance projects. Many of the plumbing and heating projects provide students with opportunists to use their mechanical aptitude and their ability to solve engineering problems by using critical thinking skills and their ability to be creative.

Announcements
Plumbing senior honored
Congratulations to Matthew Coffey, a senior in the Plumbing Shop. On Saturday, March 9th at the Royal Plaza Hotel in Marlborough, Matt was recognized by the Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors of Massachusetts as Diman Regional Voc-Tech Instructors' "All Star". This recognition is given by the MAPHCC to a senior in each vocational high school enrolled in a plumbing and heating program who has excelled in their field. Matt received a tool bag complete with hand tools and a $500 scholarship that may be used to further his education toward licensure or college. The tools for all reward recipients were donated to the MAPHCC by Ferguson Supply Co. Matt, along with the other chosen "All Stars" will appear in the upcoming edition of "Progress Magazine". The Board of Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters were present to congratulate the All Stars for their achievements.

Congratulations to Plumbing Senior
Congratulations to Aaron Pereira, a senior in the Plumbing Shop. On Saturday, March 10th at the Royal Plaza Hotel in Marlborough, Aaron was recognized by Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors of Massachusetts as Diman Regional Voc-Tech Instructors' "All Star." This recognition is given by the MAPHCC to a senior in each vocational school enrolled in a plumbing and heating program throughout the state who has excelled in their field. Story continues.

Plumbing student wins award
Congratulations to John Duggan, a senior in the Plumbing Shop. On Saturday, March 12, at the Royal Plaza Hotel in Marlborough, John was recognized by the Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Contractors of Massachusetts as Diman Regional's "Vocational Technical All Star." This recognition is given by the PHCC to a senior in each vocational high school enrolled in a plumbing and heating program throughout the state who has excelled in their field. John received a tool bag with the basic essential tools for his field, which had been donated by F.W. Webb and Ferguson Supply. John, along with other chosen "All Stars" will appear in the upcoming edition of "Progress" Magazine. See a picture and learn more here.
